Treatment: 75mins Cost £35
Treatment: Course of 3 treatments: Cost £100
This is a gentle but highly effective form of massage that stimulates the body’s lymphatic system. The immune system is given a boost and energy levels can be improved.
Light pressures are combined with small pumping movements in the direction of the lymph nodes encouraging the removal of toxins and puffiness from the body. In turn this will benefit problems such as unbalanced skin, digestion, cellulite and swelling.
Regular exercise and a balanced diet will help support this treatment. A course of 3 is recommended.
The Lymphatic System
The lymphatic system has a vital role in the body as part of the immune system, which protects the body against infection. It transports nutrients to cells and eliminates metabolic wastes, toxins and excess fluid from the body.
When the lymphatic system becomes blocked, lymphatic fluid builds up and stagnates, causing the entire system to become toxic. Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage helps clear the blockages; eliminates excess fluid, metabolic wastes and toxins from the body, transport nutrients to cells and increase metabolic efficiency. This all adds up to the reduction of excess fluid and assists in weight reduction. It also has a calming effect on the nervous system and helps relieve stress and tension.
There are around twice as many lymph vessels as blood vessels in the body. However, unlike blood, which is pumped around your body by your heart, the lymph system has no pump. Lymph relies on the pressure from your blood vessels and movement from your muscles to carry white blood cells and antibodies around the lymph system.
Lymph itself is a clear, slightly yellow fluid which flows easily through your body. It transports nutrients and oxygen to cells, collecting toxins on the way and then flushing the toxins out through the lymph nodes.
